Hypnotherapy

What is it?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to bring about personal change.

What does it feel like?

It’s a bit like day dreaming, you’re neither asleep nor completely awake, it’s comfortable and very relaxing.

How does it work?

When a person is in a deeply relaxed state, not totally unconscious but not quite conscious, the mind takes on suggestions far more easily than when a person is fully awake.

Why does hypnosis work so well?

The use of hypnotherapy works so well because it communicates with your unconscious mind, accessing the answers that are right for you and finding ways to make the changes that you want to make and are ready for.

Who will it work for?

Anyone and everyone who wants to make lasting changes to their old behaviours and beliefs.

Who won’t it work for?

Those who are trying to change for other people or who feel they ought to change or who are simply not ready - yet.

Can you make me do something I don’t want to do?

No. You are always in control.

What if I don’t wake up?

You can emerge from hypnosis any time you want (you don’t really wake up as you’re not asleep when your hypnotised), your therapist will gently bring you out of hypnosis at the end of the session and it might feel a bit like waking up from a snooze.
